Ethereum liquidation risks and validator shifts highlighted

The Ethereum market is facing significant liquidation risks at key price levels. A drop below $2,333 could trigger about $1.023 billion in long liquidations, while a move above $2,572 would risk around $553 million in short liquidations across major exchanges.

Binance NewsBlockchain.com has introduced weekly ETHUSD spot CFD options, offering calls and puts with expiries of up to one week. These options feature USDC settlement, where premiums equal the maximum loss, and require holders to maintain their positions until settlement.

Validators currently hold 35.9% of circulating ETH, a notable concentration. The validator count has decreased from approximately 1.1 million to 881,000 as operators consolidated under EIP-7251. However, active validator balances have increased by 8.8% to 43.8 million ETH, which has reduced emission rates by roughly 3-4%.
