Ethereum.org Highlights Growing Trend of Games Returning to Mainnet
Ethereum.org has revamped its gaming page, highlighting the growing trend of games returning to the mainnet as Ethereum scales. The updated page is divided into four sections, including a history of gaming on Ethereum, games running on mainnet, the L2 gaming ecosystem, and NFT design.
The new page features Asphodel, a fully on-chain game currently in playtesting on mainnet, as an example of this shift. Ronin, Ethereum's newest L2, is also prominently featured as the first L2 listed on the page.
The page showcases various games and NFT projects, including Loot Survivor, Gigaverse, and Cambria, which demonstrate innovative mechanics such as verifiable high scores and manufacturing capacity. However, the page acknowledges that there is no consensus on gas fees, presenting two opposing views from Kamigotchi and Realms.World.
The revamped gaming hub aims to provide a centralized resource for gamers and developers, showcasing the vast array of games and projects built on Ethereum's mainnet and L2s.
