Ethereum Plunges to Half Price Amidst Rising Competition
Ethereum is trading at nearly half its all-time high price of $4,954 reached last August. Despite being down 47% from that peak, Ethereum's current price of around $2,600 may be a buying opportunity for investors.
The cryptocurrency remains the market leader in decentralized finance (DeFi), particularly in areas such as stablecoins and asset tokenization. It accounts for over 56% of Total Value Locked (TVL) in the crypto world, with no other blockchain even coming close.
Ethereum's dominance is due to its strategic roadmap of upcoming blockchain upgrades, which provides important visibility for investors. However, it faces stiff competition from rival blockchains such as Solana and Cardano.
