Ethereum Price Hovers Near $2,700, $3,000 Target in Sight
Ethereum's price has been on a steady rise, reaching $2,695 in October after a 32.6% gain in August and an additional 8.8% in September. The main barrier standing between Ethereum and a possible move toward $3,000 is the resistance zone of $2,775-$2,800. To reach $3,000, Ethereum would need to close convincingly above this resistance zone.
The Ethereum price has shown signs of improving momentum, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) sitting at 51.53, above its moving average of 48.46. However, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) remains weaker, with the monthly MACD line near -98.3 compared to a signal line around -66.4.
Despite the mixed signals, Ethereum's price has been holding close to $2,700 after reaching an intraday high of $2,775 on October 2. The price action accelerated in the second half of September, with Ethereum moving from $2,398 on September 15 to $2,775 by September 21.
The Ethereum Foundation has scheduled Glamsterdam to activate on the Sepolia testnet at 13:53:36 UTC on October 6. This is an important test for the Ethereum network, and results will determine the next stages of deployment.
