Ethereum Rises 0.28% Amid Key Updates and Regulatory Moves
Ethereum (ETH) experienced a modest gain of 0.28%, reaching $2,713.00 on October 6. This marks the highest intraday level since September 22, 2026, when ETH traded at $2,748.68. The cryptocurrency also saw its largest percentage increase since October 4, 2026, with a 0.72% rise.
Meanwhile, Tom Lee's Bitmine reduced its Ether purchases for the second consecutive week, adding 15,112 ETH to its holdings. Separately, the Glamsterdam test for Ethereum received a last-minute software update to increase block capacity to 200 million gas.
On-chain analyst Aunt Ai reported that GMGN transferred 11,999.5 ETH (approximately $23 million) to a Coinbase Batch Staking address for staking. Notably, a week earlier, GMGN had deposited ETH worth $16.38 million to a trading platform, raising suspicions of potential sales.
In regulatory news, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced new crypto market-structure rules following the failure of the CLARITY Act in Congress. Additionally, the SEC cleared 3x leveraged Bitcoin and Ethereum funds for trading.
