Ethereum Rises as BitMine Adds 17K to Holdings
Ethereum has been outperforming Bitcoin in Q3, with a return on investment (ROI) of over 70% compared to Bitcoin's 43%. This puts Ethereum's quarterly returns more than 1.5 times greater than those of Bitcoin.
The larger question is whether this trend will continue into Q4, which has traditionally favored Bitcoin. Historically, ETH has not outperformed BTC in Q4 since 2021.
However, institutional positioning does not seem to be following this trend. According to SoSoValue, Bitcoin ETFs have seen over $6 billion in net inflows in Q3, more than twice the amount of Ethereum's $3 billion. Corporate accumulation is also picking up around BTC.
But BitMine is doubling down on its ETH strategy, adding another 17,000 ETH to its holdings. This timing is intriguing as other companies are accumulating BTC.
