Ethereum Soars with Fusaka Upgrade, BUIDL Fund Hits $2.5 Billion

The Ethereum network has received an upgrade called Fusaka, which activated on December 3, 2025. This upgrade brings PeerDAS to the network through EIP-7594, allowing nodes to verify blob data by sampling small random portions. The result is a significant increase in blob throughput of up to 8x and a reduction in bandwidth requirements for full nodes by up to 80%.

The Fusaka upgrade also introduces Blob Parameter Only forks, which change blob targets. For instance, BPO1 raises the per-block blob target and maximum to 10 and 15 respectively, while BPO2 raises them to 14 and 21.

BlackRock and Securitize manage the BUIDL fund, which reached an AUM of approximately $2.5 billion in May 2026. This fund requires a $5 million minimum subscription from qualified purchasers and operates on Ethereum using the ERC-20 standard.
