Ethereum Surges as Crypto Market Shows Bullish Signs
The crypto market is showing signs of a bull run, with the total market cap gaining over 6% in Q3. This quarter could mark the first time since Q3 2025 that the market closes in the green. However, Bitcoin dominance has yet to reclaim the 60% level, which may indicate a more cautious approach. Ethereum is taking center stage, with the ETH/BTC ratio climbing over 10% this quarter.
Historically, capital rotates from BTC into ETH as investors move further out the risk curve. But Ethereum's market structure suggests something stronger may be unfolding. The asset's dominance closed July up more than 11%, signaling a larger share of the total crypto market rather than short-term capital flows.
Ethereum's ROI is catching investors' attention, with a potential repeat of its 2025-style outperformance against BTC looking increasingly likely. In Q3 2025, Ethereum closed up 66.55% while Bitcoin returned just 6.31%. A similar setup may now be taking shape, with the ETH/BTC pair gaining over 56% in Q3 2025.
The exchange supply ratio has dropped to 0.127, marking the lowest level on the chart. Rising on-chain accumulation points to a potential double-digit quarterly close for Ethereum. With Bitcoin facing its historically weaker August and September window, the odds of Ethereum taking the lead are starting to look favorable.
