Ethereum Surges Past XRP in Market Value
Ethereum's recent price surge has outpaced XRP's growth over the past 90 days, but both cryptocurrencies have been on a similar upward trajectory. Ethereum has increased by 71% since August, reaching $2,711, while XRP has gained around 46% to $1.51.
Ethereum's market capitalization is significantly larger than XRP's, with $331 billion in circulation compared to XRP's $95 billion. This difference in market size means that large trades have a smaller impact on Ethereum's price compared to XRP.
XRP still has 37 billion tokens locked in Ripple escrow awaiting release, which could create sustained selling pressure as they enter the market. In contrast, Ethereum needs only an 82% increase to reclaim its all-time high of $4,946 from August 2025.
