Japan Tightens Crypto Filing Checks with Integrated Tax System
The Japanese National Tax Agency has activated its KSK2 tax system to strengthen filing checks that may include crypto-asset reporting. The new system, which was completed on September 24th, combines data and applications from different tax types, allowing for improved analysis of taxpayer filings.
Data used in these checks includes annual transaction reports from crypto asset exchanges, bank records, and information exchanged with overseas tax authorities. This integrated approach aims to identify potential omissions in crypto-asset reporting.
The agency has not disclosed specific artificial-intelligence analysis rules for crypto-asset data. However, the integration of various tax types is designed to improve overall tax-information analysis and review of taxpayer filings.
