Ethereum, XRP, and Solana Dominate Crypto Discussions
The Ethereum blockchain, launched in 2015, is designed to support more than simple transactions. Its developers, including Vitalik Buterin, created it for smart contracts and decentralized applications. The network has over 500,000 daily active addresses, with users paying network fees with ETH when interacting with apps and services.
Ethereum's dynamic supply mechanism can influence its long-term market structure, unlike XRP, which has a fixed supply of 100 billion tokens. Ripple Labs developed the XRP Ledger for international payments, using XRP as a bridge between currencies to reduce settlement time and lower transaction costs.
Solana, launched in 2020, focuses on fast transactions and low network fees, with Anatoly Yakovenko and his team creating a proof-of-history system for efficient transaction ordering. Solana has attracted users across decentralized finance, trading, and digital assets, and its SOL token reached a market capitalization of around $47 billion in March 2026.
