Ethereum's Last Normal Fork? Buterin Hints at Radical Upgrade

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has hinted that the upcoming Hegotá upgrade may be the last 'normal' fork for the network.

Hegotá, planned for 2027, is expected to introduce technologies like recursive STARKs and quantum-safe cryptography, marking a significant shift in Ethereum's development trajectory.

In his statement, Buterin emphasized that Hegotá would be the final upgrade whose features and technology would still be recognizable to someone familiar with Ethereum in 2015.
