Ethereum's Price Recovery Stalls at $1,900-$1,950 Resistance Zone
Ethereum's price has been steadily recovering from its June lows, but it still struggles to break above $1,900. Since rebounding from around $1,500 in June, Ethereum climbed towards $1,950 during July, only to stall at the current resistance zone of $1,900-$1,950.
The broader recovery remains intact, but softer capital inflows and lighter trading volume suggest a stronger catalyst is needed for another breakout. Technical indicators, such as the Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) and Absolute Price Oscillator (APO), remain positive, but have declined significantly from their July peaks.
Institutional demand has continued to provide modest support, with US spot Ethereum ETFs attracting approximately $9 million in net inflows on July 31. However, the recent proposal of EIP-8361, which would gradually reduce consensus-layer staking rewards by burning an increasing share of newly issued ETH, is unlikely to influence short-term price action.
For now, a successful breakout above $1,900 would likely require stronger trading volume, renewed capital inflows, and more consistent institutional demand. Until then, Ethereum appears more likely to remain within its current trading range than begin a sustained move towards $2,000.
