EURC Stablecoin Surges Past €400 Million Circulation Mark
Circle's euro-pegged stablecoin, EURC, has reached a significant milestone by crossing €400 million in circulation. This growth is reflected in Circle's stock price, which closed at $74.59 on August 17, up 4.15% or $2.97 from the previous day. The company attributes this rise to increased demand for regulated euro liquidity across both traditional and crypto financial workflows.
EURC supply has grown more than 100% over the past year, with its circulation expanding through various blockchains, exchanges, and payment networks. Circle is expanding EURC's reach by listing it on major exchanges such as Coinbase and Kraken, improving its liquidity for trading pairs. Additionally, the company has partnered with services like Mercuryo, MoonPay, Ramp, and Transak to allow users to enter and exit digital assets using euros without relying on dollar stablecoins.
The growth of EURC is also linked to clearer regulations in Europe, specifically the Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation. Circle designed EURC as an e-money token under MiCA, which has helped build trust among regulated firms and larger users. As a result, the company sees potential uses for EURC in settlement, foreign exchange, and treasury work.
