Fairshake Backs 32 House Candidates with $1 Million Each for Midterms
Fairshake, a political action committee, has announced its support for 32 U.S. House candidates ahead of the November midterm elections. The endorsements, made public on October 5, include 19 Republicans and 13 Democrats. The committee will provide $1 million each to six key candidates: Janelle Bynum, Steven Horsford, and Derek Tran from the Democratic Party, and French Hill, Bryan Steil, and Bill Huizenga from the Republican Party. The remaining 26 candidates will receive undisclosed amounts.
The selection process focused on candidates' stances on crypto regulation rather than party affiliation. Fairshake's spokesperson, Geoff Vetter, emphasized that the endorsements reflect technical positions on digital asset regulation. The committee has a strong financial position, with $120 million in cash on hand as of August 2026, and has successfully supported 53 out of 57 primary and special elections this cycle.
This expansion comes after the U.S. Senate blocked the CLARITY Act in September 2026, which aimed to establish a federal regulatory framework for digital assets. Fairshake had previously allocated nearly $30 million to campaign against Democratic candidate Sherrod Brown in Ohio. The committee's financial filings show disbursements of $40 million to Democrats and $31 million to Republicans in primary elections.
Democratic Senator Ruben Gallego, who received prior committee support, noted that regulatory negotiations could face challenges in Congress, requiring at least 60 votes in the Senate to restart any market structure legislation. The midterm elections on November 3, 2026, will determine the balance of power in Congress.
