Fairshake Commits $6 Million to Six House Candidates for 2026 Midterms
Fairshake, a prominent crypto-backed political action committee (PAC) supported by Coinbase, Ripple Labs, and Andreessen Horowitz, has revealed its initial spending plans for the 2026 U.S. midterm elections. The group will allocate $6 million to six House candidates, selected from a larger pool of 32 contenders it intends to back. Fairshake plans to support 19 Republican and 13 Democratic incumbents, emphasizing its issue-based approach rather than partisan loyalty.
The PAC’s early spending focuses on six House races, with each candidate receiving $1 million. Notable Democrats include Representatives Janelle Bynum, Derek Tran, and Steven Horsford, while Republicans feature Representatives French Hill, Bill Huizenga, and Bryan Steil. Fairshake’s strategy appears aimed at securing momentum for lawmakers likely to influence digital-asset policy in the next Congress.
Fairshake’s support is tied to legislative action, specifically the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, which all 32 candidates backed. The bill, aimed at clarifying regulatory roles for digital assets, failed a crucial Senate vote, leaving its future uncertain. This setback may explain Fairshake’s urgency in building political support ahead of the midterms.
The PAC’s financial capacity is substantial, with $122 million in cash reserves as of August. It has already spent $82 million on ads, signaling its intent to shape voter perceptions on digital-asset regulation. Fairshake is expected to spend over $100 million on ads across House and Senate races in 2026, with a significant portion targeted at Ohio’s Senate race.
