Fake GIWA Network Scam Drains $2 Million in Ethereum

A fake Ethereum Layer 2 network impersonating GIWA drained approximately 766.25 ETH, worth around $2 million, after users transferred about 767.65 ETH through a fraudulent bridge.

The attackers used chain ID 9134, associated with GIWA, and built a functioning Layer 2 environment with bridge and batcher infrastructure to make the network appear legitimate.

DYORSWAP, the exchange involved in the incident, distributed more than 200 ETH in compensation from its own funds while investigating the attackers and tracing the stolen assets.
