XRP Lags Behind Bitcoin and Solana as It Requires Larger Gain to Offset Previous Losses
XRP has been lagging behind Bitcoin and Solana in its price recovery. While both Bitcoin and Solana have nearly erased their year-to-date losses, XRP is still down 17% for 2026. One reason for this disparity is that XRP experienced deeper early-year losses than the other two assets.
According to data from CoinMarketCap's Crypto Fear and Greed Index, XRP started the year at $1.84 and has since fallen to $1.52. This means that holders of XRP need a gain of about 21% just to return to their starting point for the year.
In contrast, Bitcoin started the year at $87,498 and is currently trading near $84,261, making its recovery only about 4% away. Solana needs to gain roughly 3% to return to its starting point.
