FBTC Maintains Dominance Despite September Net Outflow
Fidelity's FBTC remains the top performer in the US spot Bitcoin ETF market despite a net outflow of $215 million on September 15. This setback follows a three-week period where U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $3.8 billion in net inflows, with the week ending September 5 seeing $986.9 million in inflows. The momentum from August, which saw $3.52 billion in net inflows, helped offset the $4.5 billion outflows from June 2026.
The market recorded a $731 million single-day inflow on September 3, with IBIT capturing $454 million and FBTC adding $74 million. These inflows attempt to bridge the gap left by the 29% decline in Bitcoin prices since the start of 2026. The total assets under management for all U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs stood at $101.3 billion as of late August, though this figure dropped from a $103.3 billion peak.
FBTC holds $13.22 billion and provides a distinct custodial structure through Fidelity Digital Assets rather than relying on Coinbase. IBIT maintains a $60.06 billion AUM and has accumulated $12.1 billion in inflows during its first year of trading, beating the Digital Assets category average with a 25.6% return in August.
