Federal Reserve Decision Looms Over Crypto Market Outlook
The crypto market outlook for October is cautious due to uncertainty surrounding the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision and inflation data. Bitcoin trades near $83,800, a significant drop from its peak of around $126,210 last year.
On September 16, the Fed raised its target range by 0.25 percentage points to 3.75%, 4.00%, with 12 out of 18 officials voting in favor. Sixteen of these officials expect one more rate hike in 2026. Higher interest rates make digital assets less attractive compared to safer investments that offer higher yields.
August core PCE inflation eased to 3.0% year on year, the lowest since February. However, this still exceeds the Fed's target rate of 2%. Elevated oil prices and Middle East tension continue to put pressure on headline inflation.
