Fidelity Custody Clarifies Bitcoin Transfers Amid Market Speculation
A recent analysis by on-chain researcher Emmett Gallic has clarified that a series of Bitcoin transfers involving 3,568 BTC were internal movements within Fidelity Custody.
The transfers took place over nine hours and were initially perceived as asset sales or a reduction in Strategy's Bitcoin position.
Fidelity treats customer-held BTC as fungible assets, allowing funds to move between custody addresses as operational needs arise.
This means that the transfers do not indicate that Strategy reduced its Bitcoin holdings within Fidelity Custody.
