Figure Acquires Kiavi for $717M, Boosts Blockchain Lending to $7B
Figure Technology Solutions has acquired Kiavi for $717 million, bringing over $7 billion in annual lending volume to its blockchain platform. The deal represents a major milestone for the tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs) and private credit.
The acquisition adds Kiavi's AI-driven platform, which includes a home-value engine and automated document review technology, to Figure's existing infrastructure. This combination is expected to accelerate Figure's roadmap and expand its marketplace.
Figure's CEO Michael Tannenbaum noted that the transaction represents a 'massive leap forward' for the asset class. Kiavi's CEO Arvind Mohan will join Figure as Chief Business Officer to lead the platform's rollout.
The deal also raises questions about whether tokenized private credit can scale like tokenized Treasuries have. Figure is betting that its blockchain-based funding and settlement capabilities, supported by over 480 active partners, can compete with legacy financial infrastructure.
