Payments giant Fiserv has launched its Digital Asset Platform on the Solana blockchain. The platform, which is live with Bank of North Dakota's Roughrider Coin as its first use case, will allow more than 90 banks and credit unions in the state to access the stablecoin through Fiserv's existing banking infrastructure.

Roughrider Coin is a dollar-backed stablecoin, issued by VersaBank USA, and is designed exclusively for bank-to-bank transactions among North Dakota community banks and credit unions. The asset is processed on the Solana blockchain, and Fireblocks provides secured wallets and tokenization infrastructure for institutions.

The launch moves a plan first announced in October 2025 into production. Fiserv has not disclosed how much Roughrider Coin has been issued, how many institutions have already completed transactions, or the value of settlements processed since launch.
