Fogo Mainnet Back Online After Recovery of 237 Million Stolen Tokens

Share

Fogo's mainnet has been restarted after the recovery of 237 million stolen FOGO tokens, which represented more than 10% of circulating supply.

The security incident occurred on August 28 when an unknown actor compromised the Fogo Foundation and transferred 400 million FOGO to a 'bad actor.'

Fogo halted its blockchain on August 29 to prevent further movement of the affected assets. The project worked with centralized exchanges and law enforcement to recover the stolen tokens.

Of the recovered 237 million tokens, 163 million remain unrecovered, and efforts continue to locate these affected assets.
