Franklin Templeton Becomes Largest Asset Manager on Canton Network
Franklin Templeton has become the largest asset manager to hold the role of Super Validator on the Canton Network, joining institutions like Visa in this position. With over $1.79 trillion in assets under management, Franklin Templeton's addition to the network marks a significant milestone in its adoption by regulated financial entities.
The Canton Network is designed as an institutional-grade blockchain where financial entities can transact, settle, and manage tokenized assets. Super Validators sit at the top of the trust hierarchy, with governance voting rights and responsibility for critical network infrastructure.
Franklin Templeton's involvement with Canton dates back to November 2025, when it integrated its Benji Technology Platform with the network. The firm also participated in an on-chain US Treasuries transaction on Canton in July 2026.
