Fresh Capital Flows Amidst Fear: Bitcoin's Next Move Remains Uncertain

Bitcoin's recent price action is being driven by short-term holders who are taking profits amidst a fearful market sentiment. According to CryptoQuant data, the long-term holder spent output profit ratio to its short-term counterpart has declined significantly, indicating that short-term holders have realized more profit than long-term holders.

The net unrealized losses (NUL) for Bitcoin are still low, with most investors sitting in profit. However, the Net Unrealized Profit and Loss (NUPL) has surged past zero to 0.17, suggesting that any significant decline could lead to a sell-off. The Fear and Greed Index reads 36, implying that investors may be prone to selling at any point.

Despite the fearful sentiment, major buying of Bitcoin has been observed, with $5.25 billion in capital flowing into the asset this week. This buying activity is characterized by heavier purchases and more Bitcoin moving into private wallets, indicating a long-term holding outlook.
