Fruit Fly Brain Powers Web-Based Bitcoin Miner
FutureBit, the company behind the Apollo series of Bitcoin ASIC miners, has introduced HashFly, a proof-of-concept organic neuron miner. The device uses a simulated fruit fly brain, based on the fly brain connectome shared by Google, to mine Bitcoin in a web browser.
According to FutureBit, this is 'the first organic neuron Bitcoin miner based on the fly brain'. While HashFly is currently just a proof-of-concept, the company claims that a real organic neuron miner could have '10x the efficiency of the best silicon 3nm ASICs'.
