Gemini Enables Native XRP Transfers for Singapore Users
Gemini has enabled native XRP Ledger transfers for its Singapore user base. This update allows users to send and receive XRP directly to and from external XRPL-compatible wallets, rather than being limited to buying and selling on the platform.
This change is significant because it marks a major step forward in Gemini's efforts to build out its blockchain integrations. The exchange first added XRP as one of 13 supported chains back in August 2023.
Under Singapore's Travel Rule requirements, withdrawals are restricted to verified exchanges or self-custody wallets. This means that every outbound transaction must be trackable, which aligns with the country's broader regulatory philosophy of encouraging crypto adoption while keeping a clear paper trail.
