Gemini's $10 million Bitcoin donation to MAGA Inc. Super PAC has sparked regulatory and political debate, highlighting the intersection of crypto money, political access, and regulatory relief.

The contribution, made in two separate transactions totaling more than $5 million each, was reported on July 23 by the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and disclosed in a campaign finance report filed by MAGA Inc. The timing is significant, as it came about three weeks after Gemini and the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) jointly filed a motion to reverse a $5 million settlement from January 2025.

CFTC Chair Michael Selig claimed that prior enforcement against Gemini was politically motivated under the Biden administration. The Winklevoss brothers, co-founders of Gemini, have built one of the most visible political profiles in the crypto industry over the past two years, with a financial commitment that stretches well beyond this single contribution.
