GEODNET Deploys Global Positioning Layer with 22,000 Base Stations
GEODNET, a decentralized physical infrastructure network, has built a global positioning layer for AI-driven devices with over 22,000 base stations. The network delivers centimeter-level positioning data to its customers, which include drones, robotics, and autonomous vehicles. According to GEODNET, the result is ±1 cm accuracy, and the network spans 174 countries. The project has reportedly run hundreds of thousands of GB in operational RTK data streams.
GEODNET uses a DePIN model, which allows independent hardware operators to set up base stations and earn token rewards. The native token is $GEOD, which has migrated to the Solana blockchain. GEODNET directs about 80% of its revenue toward buybacks and burns of $GEOD, using income to purchase tokens from the market and permanently remove them from circulation.
The project has achieved significant milestones, including raising $8M in a strategic funding round led by Multicoin Capital in February 2025. GEODNET also showcased two new products, the GEO-MEASURE and GEO-PULSE, at CES 2026. The project's revenue has reached $2.8 million in Q3, a rare instance of a crypto infrastructure network pointing to paying clients rather than just a token chart.
