Global Economy Braces for Crucial Week of Data Releases
The global economy is bracing for a crucial week of data releases that could shape market expectations and policy decisions. From August 31 to September 6, major economies will share their manufacturing and inflation data, setting the stage for a new round of assessments on global economic activity.
China's official manufacturing and non-manufacturing PMIs will kick off the week on August 31, providing the first significant signals on factory orders, service demand, employment, and price pressures. The United States and the eurozone will follow suit with their key manufacturing and inflation data on September 1, while the Fed's Beige Book on September 2 will offer regional insights into consumption, labor, wages, prices, credit, real estate, and manufacturing.
Australia's second-quarter national accounts and Canada's trade and employment data will also be released this week, testing whether economies outside the U.S. can sustain growth. The most significant event of the week, however, is the U.S. employment report for August on September 4, which could simultaneously alter expectations for U.S. Treasury yields, the dollar, equity market trends, commodities, and cryptocurrency asset liquidity.
