Global Wealth Skyrockets to $570 Trillion in 2025, But What About Crypto?

Share

The world's total household net worth reached $570 trillion in 2025, according to McKinsey's 'Global Balance Sheet 2026' report. This represents a staggering $40 trillion increase from 2024, and a 7.3% jump that outpaced the 5.9% average annual growth rate observed since 2000.

The majority of this wealth growth came not from real capital formation, but rather from asset prices rising faster than inflation, accounting for roughly 58-60% of the gains. The United States and Canada drove much of this increase through their equity valuations, while several major economies saw real estate prices decline.

The report's findings raise concerns about the health and stability of global wealth growth, as it has consistently outpaced GDP growth since 2000. Total household wealth has more than quadrupled since 2000 at nominal values and market exchange rates.
