GPUS Stock Drops as Hyperscale Data Separates Bitcoin Mining Business
Hyperscale Data has announced plans to carve out its Bitcoin mining business into a new subsidiary, Patriot BTC. The move aims to clarify the valuation of its mining and AI businesses. Shares of GPUS slipped over 5% in morning trading as news broke.
The company intends to transfer its Montana data center, Bitcoin miners, and mining equipment into the new unit. This separation will allow investors to view both business segments more clearly, according to Hyperscale Data's executive chairman Milton Ault III.
Ault stated that 'Bitcoin mining can be viable as a focused, single-purpose business.' He noted that mining and AI data centers have different capital requirements and priorities.
