Veteran investor Jeremy Grantham has renewed his skepticism of cryptocurrency Bitcoin. The billionaire, known for predicting the dot-com bubble and 2008 housing collapse, said BTC would 'certainly go to zero.'

Grantham made these comments on CNBC's 'Squawk Box,' where he also called crypto a 'useless, speculative mechanism' that will fade 'not with a bang, but with a whimper.'

The token has been trading below $60,000 since October, a decline of more than 50% from its peak near $126,000.
