hashbank Merges Traditional and Crypto Banking in One App
W Group has unveiled a new phase in the development of hashbank, a digital bank that merges traditional banking services with Web3 infrastructure. The fully licensed bank, part of W Group, allows users to manage both fiat and crypto assets within a single app. This integration is rare in the banking sector, enabling customers to receive digital assets from external wallets, exchange them for fiat, and send assets to external blockchain addresses. The platform supports over 150 digital assets and ensures secure transactions through authentication, address verification, and anti-money-laundering procedures.
Volodymyr Nosov, Founder and President of W Group, emphasized the company's strategy of bridging Web2 and Web3 worlds. He stated, "We are not building businesses that exist only in Web2 or only in Web3. The biggest opportunities will emerge between them." Hashbank, which holds a full banking license from the National Bank of Georgia, has been operational since 2024 and now serves approximately 60,000 customers across 73 countries.
Goga Chanadiri, CEO of hashbank, highlighted the bank's role in setting a new precedent for digital banking in Georgia and the wider region. The bank's integration with WhiteBIT, a platform with 10 million users, further strengthens its position within the W Group ecosystem. Future developments for hashbank include expanding international payment rails, new currencies, and cross-border corridors, as well as banking as a service and embedded banking solutions.
W Group, a global fintech ecosystem with over 40 million users, aims to create a full-cycle financial ecosystem where banking, payments, digital assets, and international financial infrastructure can work together. For its technological achievements in 2026, hashbank was awarded the title of "Best New Digital Bank Georgia 2026" by Global Banking & Finance Review.
