Hayden Adams Touts AMMs as Backbone of Tokenized Market
Hayden Adams, founder of Uniswap, made a strong case for automated market makers (AMMs) as the ideal infrastructure for the rapidly growing tokenized global market. With onchain deposits of real-world assets increasing nearly sixfold in twelve months to around $3.98 billion, and the total issued in the tokenized market reaching $34.55 billion, Adams argues that AMMs can break down barriers to entry and democratize access to liquidity.
The Uniswap founder highlighted the key distinction between blockchain architecture and traditional markets, where blockchains manage execution, custody, and settlement separately. This decentralized model allows for a more open and inclusive market structure, which is particularly well-suited for highly correlated asset pairs.
Adams also pointed out that passive AMM strategies will begin operating in the same space as index funds, as assets continue to migrate onchain. Uniswap has already seen significant growth in its pools, with over 190 Robinhood stock tokens supported and $33 million in trades recorded on a single tokenized SPY pair in twelve days.
