Hayes Predicts $250K Bitcoin Price as Global Money Printing Fuels Capex Bubble
Arthur Hayes, Maelstrom's chief investment officer and FLOP Labs founder, believes Bitcoin will reach $250,000 due to continued global money printing. He predicts policymakers will keep liquidity flowing to avoid a credit event tied to the AI buildout.
Hayes says his exposure to Bitcoin is 10 times more than his gold holdings, while his public equity investments are focused on gold miners and Exxon Mobil. He expects the flow of dollars to AI to reverse as liquidity is used to roll over AI debt.
Despite this optimism, Hayes warns that Bitcoin could still drop by 75%, saying 'Bitcoin could go down 75%. You never know.' He also notes that policymakers have not addressed the underlying issues and may be delaying a reckoning.
Hayes points out that Bitcoin's all-time high of $125,000 was relatively modest compared to historical standards. He believes the current AI buildout is the biggest capex bubble in history, and he expects continued money printing to drive up Bitcoin prices.
