Hayes Sees Native Money for AI Agents as Crypto Innovation

Share

Arthur Hayes, the co-founder of BitMEX, has expanded on his thesis for Flop Labs' AI payment project. According to him, AI agents will need a native form of money directly redeemable for computing power rather than dollars or traditional payment rails.

The idea is that if AI agents become major consumers of computing power, their money should be directly redeemable for the resources they actually use. This concept could spur adoption and potentially reshape payment rails for AI consumption.

Hayes frames this as a crypto and DeFi innovation tied to compute resources and new token-launch and fundraising models.
