Hedera Joins Industry Giants in Shaping UK Tokenised Markets
The UK's wholesale tokenization landscape has taken a significant step forward with the publication of Feedback Statement FS26/1 by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Bank of England. The statement summarizes responses to their May Call for Input on tokenizing wholesale markets, which received input from over 123 respondents.
Hedera was among those who submitted feedback, along with industry giants BlackRock, Ripple, and Chainlink. They emphasized the importance of interoperability, governance, and auditability in tokenized markets. Hedera specifically stated that 'regulatory clarity isn't enough,' and that 'trust lives at the infra layer.'
The FCA and Bank of England have accepted the demand for more permanent authorization processes and plan to publish a joint UK wholesale tokenization roadmap later this year, with target dates for each workstream. The regulators also confirmed that the Digital Securities Sandbox (DSS) already permits scalable live activity.
