HKMA and DFSA Unite for Climate Finance Conference
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) are teaming up to host the third annual Joint Climate Finance Conference on September 10, 2026. The event aims to strengthen climate finance collaboration between Asia and the Middle East, two critical regions for the global green transition.
The conference, themed 'Driving Transition in a Changing World,' will bring together corporate leaders, investors, and policymakers to discuss financing solutions and innovations needed to address global climate challenges. Eddie Yue, Chief Executive of the HKMA, emphasized the urgency of cross-regional collaboration: 'As global uncertainty challenges green transition, leading sustainable finance hubs like Hong Kong and Dubai must align to drive capital towards real-world solutions.'
Hong Kong and Dubai are positioning themselves as critical hubs for sustainable finance, leveraging their financial infrastructure and regulatory frameworks to attract transition capital. The conference builds on prior efforts, including a 2025 joint report by the HKMA and DFSA, which revealed a threefold increase in sustainable debt issuance in MENA and emerging APAC markets to $94 billion since 2020.
The event will provide actionable insights for investors navigating the evolving dynamics of green capital markets. With the backing of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) and Nasdaq Dubai, discussions are expected to catalyze further cross-border investments and partnerships.
