Hoskinson Backs Warren: Trump Should Stay Out of Crypto Market
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently echoed Senator Elizabeth Warren's concerns about President Donald Trump's involvement in the cryptocurrency market. Warren had urged lawmakers to reject the latest version of the Clarity Act, citing a lack of sufficient safeguards to prevent the president from profiting from his crypto-related activities.
The bill aims to regulate digital assets and address potential conflicts of interest involving the president. However, Warren argued that it does not adequately prevent Trump from benefiting financially from his cryptocurrency ventures, which she claimed generated approximately $1.4 billion in revenue last year.
Hoskinson agreed with Warren's assessment, stating that the president should stay out of the cryptocurrency market while in office due to the extraordinary influence and privileged access associated with the position.
The Cardano founder noted that this approach has strengthened the narrative that cryptocurrency regulation revolves around Trump, making bipartisan cooperation increasingly difficult. He emphasized that meaningful progress cannot occur if cryptocurrency becomes a partisan political issue.
