Sanctions-related micro-transfers have triggered account freezes on major crypto exchanges, including Binance and Coinbase. The transfers, valued at small amounts of USDT, originated from wallets labeled as belonging to HTX exchange.

According to reports, several users received these unsolicited transfers, prompting compliance reviews and account freezes. One user reported that their Coinbase account received approximately 7.5 USDT attributed to an HTX-linked address, with a warning of potential account closure if a satisfactory explanation was not provided.

HTX's market representative, Molly, denied any involvement in the transfers, stating they were either a misunderstanding or interference by a third party. The exchange has launched an internal investigation and is verifying the specific sources and causes of the transfers.
