Hyperliquid Drives US Markets Towards 24/7 Trading: CME CEO
CME Group CEO Terry Duffy believes that Hyperliquid's continuous trading model is driving a shift towards 24/7 markets in the US. Speaking at a CFTC meeting, Duffy stated that decentralized platforms like Hyperliquid are reshaping traditional market standards.
Duffy acknowledged that Hyperliquid remains off-limits to US participants due to regulatory restrictions, but noted that users can still access the platform through VPNs. This workaround means that Hyperliquid's influence on traditional finance is already measurable, despite its restricted status domestically.
The CME CEO framed this access gap as a growing problem for regulators, who struggle to police VPN usage among US traders. He predicted that 24/7 trading will eventually extend across financial markets more broadly, including traditional banking systems and government oversight structures.
