Hyperliquid Seeks US Expansion Through Payward's Perpetual Futures Plan
Payward's plan to offer US perpetual futures through Hyperliquid could expand its market and benefit its native token, HYPE. According to a recent analysis by Grayscale Head of Research Zach Pandl, this proposal would create a new market for Hyperliquid if it receives regulatory approval.
The proposed US markets would start with HIP-3 markets, which are already live on testnet. These perpetual futures contracts track an asset's price without a fixed expiration date. Payward already offers US customers perpetual futures through a separate arrangement, but this plan would add an onchain venue if approved.
Grayscale noted that the success of the proposed US markets depends on regulatory approval and trading fees reaching Hyperliquid. The company summarized its view: 'A regulated US path could expand Hyperliquid's market, validate its infrastructure, increase fee revenue, and potentially bolster the value of HYPE.'
