Hyperliquid's Dominance Challenged by US-Regulated Rivals

JPMorgan has issued a warning that Hyperliquid's dominance in the perpetual futures market may be challenged by increasing competition from US-regulated platforms. The investment banking giant notes that liquidity is shifting towards venues that offer regulatory clarity, a trend that could accelerate as institutional participation grows.

Hyperliquid has long been favored for its speed and user experience, but rivals are now closing the gap. Several new entrants have launched similar products, intensifying competition not only on fees but also on features and reliability.

JPMorgan also notes that net inflows into spot ETFs tied to HYPE, the native token of Hyperliquid, have stalled in July and August after showing gains in May and June. This pause in inflows could signal waning investor enthusiasm or a wait-and-see approach amid rising competition.
