Indian Markets Soar as Defence Stocks and Bitcoin Rally
Indian stock markets have been experiencing a strong recovery, with the Sensex jumping over 500 points and the Nifty crossing the 23,400 mark. This positive trend is attributed to falling crude oil prices, foreign investor buying, and improving global signals.
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a key player in India's defence manufacturing sector, has seen its shares gain over 1% following positive views from Citi and Goldman Sachs. These global brokerage firms have maintained their 'Buy' recommendations on HAL, with target prices of Rs 6,175 per share and Rs 5,870 respectively.
The defence PSU is expected to benefit from improved execution across fighter aircraft, trainer aircraft, and helicopter programmes, as well as easing supply chain challenges. HAL has recently delivered several important projects, including the final two LCA Tejas FOC twin-seat trainers and three HTT-40 basic trainers to the Indian Air Force.
Bitcoin has also been experiencing a strong recovery, crossing above $81,800 during early trading before slightly correcting to around $81,452.23. This rally is attributed to improving risk sentiment, institutional demand, and steady ETF flows.
