India's Crypto Minimum: What You Need to Know About Starting Small

In India, there is no government-mandated minimum investment amount for cryptocurrency. However, practical minimums are set by exchanges, network fees, and tax laws.

Most major Indian exchanges allow INR deposits starting from Rs 100, but the minimum trade size can be higher than this amount. For example, a platform might allow a deposit of Rs 100 but have a minimum Bitcoin trade of 0.0001 BTC, which at current prices is worth more than Rs 100.

The 1% TDS rule in India creates an issue for small investment amounts. When selling crypto on an exchange, the platform deducts 1% of the sale amount and deposits it against your PAN before paying you the remainder.
