Institutional Investors Flood Back into Bitcoin ETFs Amid Rising Debt and Interest Rates
The Bitcoin market has seen a significant surge in interest from institutional investors, with its U.S. spot price exchange-traded funds (ETFs) attracting $2.39 billion in inflows for the week ending on Sept. 25. This marks the largest ETF inflows since October 2025, when it reached $2.71 billion.
Despite this increase in investment, Bitcoin's current price remains well below its record high of over $126,000, which it reached on Oct. 6, 2025. The cryptocurrency market is facing pressure from rising interest rates and Treasury yields, driving investors towards more conservative investments.
The influx of institutional investors into Bitcoin ETFs suggests that they are seeking to hedge against the potential devaluation of the U.S. dollar due to the national debt crossing $40 trillion for the first time in August. This could lead to a continuation of expansionary monetary policy by the Fed, further driving up demand for assets like Bitcoin and gold.
However, experts warn that this rebound may not be sustainable in the short term, as the lack of clearer regulations for the cryptocurrency market and potential rises in interest rates could keep investors on the sidelines.
