Irvine Woman Sentenced to 18 Months for Hiding Crypto Fraud Proceeds

An Irvine woman has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for her role in hiding $2.6 million in cryptocurrency fraud proceeds.

Iris Rabaya Au, 37, failed to report the income on her tax returns and used shell corporations and bank accounts to conceal the illicit funds.

Au was the girlfriend of Adam Iza, also known as 'The Godfather', who is currently serving a 15-year federal prison sentence for his involvement in an attempted Bitcoin robbery and kidnapping in Connecticut in August 2024.

Iza pleaded guilty to conspiracy against rights, wire fraud, and tax evasion in January 2025, and Au pleaded guilty to subscribing to a false tax return in March 2025.
