Italy's Largest Bank Shifts Focus from Bitcoin to Ethereum

Italy's largest bank, Intesa Sanpaolo, has made significant changes to its cryptocurrency holdings. According to the latest Form 13F filing, the bank cut its stake in BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) by a staggering 93.7% as of June 30.

The bank's common-share position in IBIT dropped from 40,723 shares to just 2,600 shares. Intesa Sanpaolo also introduced a new put position equivalent to 500,000 IBIT shares.

However, the bank made a notable shift towards Ethereum-based investments. Its holdings in the iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF surged from 116,200 to 349,600 shares, indicating a strong pivot towards Ethereum amid a fluctuating crypto market.
